October Pumpkin recipes: Pumpkin bread

Pumpkin Bread

Yummy for breakfast, lunch or snack!

Ingredients:

2 2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening
4 eggs
1-(15 oz)can pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
3 1/3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 cup walnuts (more or less to taste or just omit all together)
1/2 cup raisins (more or less to taste or just omit all together)

Directions:

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and pumpkin. Sift dry ingredients and spices together and add to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Bake in loaf pans for 65 to 70 minutes at 350°F.
